Ball valves and slanted seat valves must still open and close easily even when they have not been used for a long time. In addition to the correct material, the important thing here is the ease of handling. Thanks to the new sealing concepts used for Viega’s reworked Easytop range, ball valves and slanted seat valves remain easy to use even under extreme operating conditions. Ergonomic handwheels and actuating levers make for still greater ease of operation as well.

Ball valves are essential in pipeline installations for all media – these fittings allow for fast shut-off and maintenance operations. To ensure long-term ease of operation and functional reliability for the fittings, the Easytop ball valves made of future-oriented, drinking-water-safe gunmetal have been thoroughly reworked: The ergonomic T-grips make the ball valves even easier to operate. All models also now have a stainless steel shut-off unit. State-of-the-art manufacturing and testing techniques and a sealing concept that harmonises perfectly with the casing and shut-off unit make for smooth actuation and ensure that the ball valves remain permanently easy to operate.

Ball valves with T-shaped actuating levers
The new T-shaped plastic actuating levers can be marked according to medium (green/red). With the Easytop thermometer set (available as an accessory), it is easy to integrate a thermometer into the actuating lever – even during operation.

In addition to the familiar models, there are now three new ball valve variants with double-sided G1/4 drain opening. When used as a maintenance fitting in drinking water installations, an extraction valve can be fitted instead of a drainage valve. Both drainage openings are supplied with plugs; with these model variants a drainage valve is part of the scope of delivery.

Easytop system valves with new sealing concept
The latest generation of Viega Easytop system valves is characterised by completely newly developed top units. The visible signs of this are to be seen in the ergonomically formed handwheel and the signal-coloured setting display on the non-rising spindle.

However, the decisive developments are hidden inside the gunmetal casing of the fitting: the valve plate unit of stainless steel with the vulcanised seal that is fitted in the factory. Using the force shunt principle, this seal moves exactly over the valve seat, also made of stainless steel, when the valve is closed. The valve plate edge serves as a metallic stop, thus preventing unnecessary and excessive loading of the valve plate seal while maintaining functional reliability.

As with other Easytop system valves, the new valve tops are maintenance-free, with zero clearance and backseating. This means they fulfil all the strict hygiene requirements that apply to installation components in drinking water systems.

Factory-fitted system press connection
Viega Easytop with direct system press connections for the Profipress, Sanpress, Sanpress Inox and Raxofix systems are equipped with the DVGW-tested SC-Contur feature. This safety function ensures forced leakage in the unpressed condition. Any connections that have remained unpressed by accident definitely leak during leakage tests. After pressing, the pipe connections are permanently leak-tight.
