Regular water exchange contributes decisively to preserving the drinking water quality. Series and circular pipes also provide an important contribution. For economic reasons, the combination of metallic ascending pipes and flexible multi-layer composite pipes on an individual storey has become accepted. With the new “Raxinox” pipe system, Viega has succeeded in combining the flexibility of classic composite pipes with stainless steel. As a result, stainless steel installations can be created homogeneously down to the last extraction point. The new pipe with stainless steel inliner is simply bent by hand. Thanks to the raxial press connection technology, it is possible to press with the new stainless steel connectors without sealing elements. This makes “Raxinox“ ideal for drinking water installations, for which stainless steel is the first choice.
The core layer of the “Raxinox” pipe is a pressure-resistant and temperature-resistant stainless steel inliner. This is encased by a high-strength coating made of thermally stabilised polyethylene, which guarantees the pipe’s flexibility. Distribution over the floor of a building can be fitted effortlessly off the roll. This makes the drinking water installation particularly economical, as fewer connectors are needed than for rigid pipes. In addition, the time take is considerably reduced.
Quick processing
The “Raxinox” pipe is cut to length with the corresponding pipe scissors, with which the cut edge can also be rounded off. Then the connector is fitted to the pipe and the insertion depth is checked through the inspection window and then pressed.
Optimal flow rate
The “raxial” press connection technology, which was developed for the “Raxofix” plastic pipe system from Viega, has already proven itself in practice over many years. The stainless steel connectors of the new “Raxinox” system do not need O-rings due to the PPSU support structure, ensuring the maximum security when processing. The innovative casting and moulding procedure optimises the flow of the “Raxinox” connectors. Low pressure losses enable streamlined and hygienically optimised drinking water installations.
Installed security
The “Raxofix” connectors, like all Viega connectors, have the SC-Contur as an additional security feature. An inadvertently forgotten press connection becomes apparent when the system is filled or during the leakage test.
Extensive range
The new “Raxinox” pipe system from Viega is available in 16 mm and 20 mm, with and without corrugated pipe or preinsulated in accordance with the Energy Saving Regulation and DIN 1988-200. As well as flow-optimised arches and t-pieces, the range of connectors and moulded parts also includes double-wall panels for easy installation of series and circular pipes.
The same press tools and press jaws can be used to press both the “Raxinox” as well as the “Raxofix” connectors.
